Father's Week: Grilling Corn

My husband and I love to grill.  It is so easy to just throw it on the grill, plus it's super easy clean up.  What more can you ask for?  Earlier this week Jennifer showed us an awesome grilled pizza recipe.  One of my favorite things to grill is corn on the cob.  I know that at least in my husband's case food can be counted as a present.  I think that any man would love a grilled meal for father's day.

Let's get started.  First pull back the husk and remove the silk.  Leave the husk attached.

Next season the corn the way you want.  Usually I rub some oil or butter on the corn then sprinkle pepper, salt, and any other seasoning I am in the mood for.  This time I used Grill Mates Montreal Steak seasoning.  We love this seasoning in our house and we use it on pretty much everything.

Then you pull the husk back into place and tie it at the top with a string.

Soak the corn in cold water for 30 minutes.  I usually just fill one side of the sink and soak them in there.

Then grill for about 20 minutes.  Sorry I didn't get a final picture.

By soaking the corn it keeps them from burning.  It also steams the corn perfectly.  I absolutely love corn cooked this way.

These would be perfect with grilled hamburgers and homemade fries or coleslaw.

On a side note, if my husband and I had children I would definitely be making him this adorable Daddy's Six Pack.  What a great idea!

I had grilled corn once and I hated it! It was dry and sort of burned. I bet they didn't soak it. That sounds like the perfect solution. I can't wait to try it. I am loving summer right now, swimming, sun and BBQ! Love the 6-pack too! Way cute.
(Bet you thought the comment was going to be rude at first huh?) ;)
