Family Tradition- Thanksgiving Christmas Craft

My Grandma started the best Thanksgiving tradition when she had all 8 grandkids at the house every year. She started a kids Christmas craft after the Thanksgiving dinner was put away and the adults wanted to rest and lounge around. She would take us downstairs and have a craft all set up to keep us busy and quiet. It was something we looked forward to doing every year.

After the years went by all the kids have now become adults themselves and the tradition has just evolved into a craft for the ladies.  The ladies take turns being in charge and Thanksgiving night we have our first Christmas decoration ready to set up at home.

There are some fabulous ideas out their for small fun crafts to do as adults or kids. Here are some of my favorites I have seen thus far.  Click on the pictures below for these fun ideas.

For the kids:

Cakedelaska shows you how to make a gingerbread house of out of graham crackers.

Craft Town made these snowmen out of pots.

Parents came up with a great idea, gumdrop snow people.

The Frugal Girl shows you how to make these easy and tasty christmas trees made out of sugar cones.

Christmas Your Way gives you 9 links to some darling kid christmas craft ornaments.

For the ladies:

Milomade made these darling stars out of pop cans.

Festive Stars made from Recycled Drinks Cans

The Creativity Exchange shared how you can make trees from poster board. (This years craft.)

Todays Fabulous Finds shows you how to make darling ornaments out of paint sticks.

Here's last years gingerbread houses. The left is Meg's and the right is Erica's. As any gingerbread making nights go, it was turned into a competition. Meg walked away with the gift card for dinner but I would have to say Erica's was right there. It was a close one.

Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
