I LOVE LOVE LOVE earrings! I always go through a phase of jewelry preference and now it is earrings. Earrings are such a simple fashion statement! The only problem with earrings is that they cost (in my opinion) too much money. Perhaps I am cheap, but I like to think of myself as thrifty and creative! :)
And a pair of earring backs. (Ask any craft store for this if you can't find it in the jewelry section. I have seen them at JoAnn's. Michaels, Roberts, and Hobby Lobby).
My husband has a drill that will take the backs off easily, but for those who don't have access to a drill, I have also removed the back with a hammer. No trick here, just hit the back of the button with a hammer until the back breaks off. (Warning, do not do this on important tables, you will dent the table. Instead place the button on a book you don't care about or on carpet).
Then you super-glue your button to the earring back.
You will have so many options. I have even painted some of mine for fun!

I love these. I have done something similar in the past. Another great source is sweaters that are missing buttons that you are going to replace anyways.
Oh my, these are super cute!! I have seen button earrings with the holes and I am not a big fan. I am going to give these a try. I love big round earrings and like you I just spent way to much on my last pair. This makes me want to rummage threw the buttons I have today. Thanks.
I love these too!! I don't wear earings very often, because they are expensive. Great solution to the problem
my sister-in-law taught me this trick 20+ years ago. I can make earrings to match my outfit's buttons. sew nice.
