Simple Gift Wrapping Idea

I have this awesome friend who is so creative.  She told me the other day that she goes to the DI or thrift store and buys old patterns and uses them for decoration, wrapping presents, etc.

I love this idea so I went to the DI and found multiple old patterns for $.50 each.  I tried to find the ones that had the most pattern pieces inside so I can have more 'tissue paper' to work with.  You can add it to a cute gift bag, add some ribbon and it turns out adorable, in my humble opinion.  I have also added it to brown paper lunch sacks.

I like the fact that you can cut the pattern into whatever size you need.  I have also used the pattern pieces as wrapping paper.  It works great to wrap a white box and tie it up with some cute ribbon.

Now you have a cheap way to wrap your presents without having to spend a ton on tissue paper!

I like the pattern idea but what I really love are your bows! I write a blog about gift wrapping but I've never seen anyone tie them like that onto gift bags. Love the way it looks! Do you need any tape to secure them?

Cool idea! Just check ebay first to make sure they aren't worth something. Some of those old patterns are worth a fortune!
